The 12th OENOVITI International Symposium and 14th General Assembly took place from 11th to 15th May 2023 in Kyoto, Yamanashi and Niigata, in Japan.
Two symposia were organized for this exceptional edition:
- Symposium 1 concerning "Wine, Sake and Health", in Kyoto, on 11th May 2023
- Symposium 2 themed "Disruptive effects of including natural capital in wine business management” in Yamanashi, on 13th May 2023.
The General Assembly and Work Group Meetings were also scheduled around these two events. The OENOVITI members were also invited for a tour of Niigata and a discovery of its Sakeology Center.
These two OENOVITI International symposia were supported by the OIV Patronage.
We would like to express our most sincere gratitude for the warm welcome our Japanese partners extended to us during our visit to Japan: Kyoto University, Louis Pasteur Center for Medical Research, University of Yamanashi, Niigata University.
This event was an exceptional landmark for the OENOVITI International Network: the first Symposium organized in Asia in the history of the Network, and the first face-to-face gathering of our members since the Covid-19 pandemic.
Significant scientific outcomes were shared between participants from a variety of countries, and key issues of vine, wine and sake industries were discussed.
