This year's theme, "Opportunities and challenges for vine and wine production by preserving resources and environment", gathered more than 130 local and international participants at the National University of Cuyo, hosting the event this year and member of the network since 2012.
5 thematics were explored during this Symposium:
- Viticultural Aspects for wine and table grapes
- Winemaking and ageing aspects
- Economical marketing, consumers’ preferences aspects
- Health and Safety aspects
- Innovation in sustainable production for vines and wines
The event was supported by the OIV (Organisation Internationale de la Vigne et du Vin), and by network members who came from Argentina, Italy, USA, France, Spain, Japan, Chile, Australia to present the results of their research on the different thematics.
The Symposium was followed by the 11th General Assembly of the network (26th April) and by a day of field visits to local wineries, Clos de los Siete and Zuccardi Family in the Uco Valley.
The General Assembly was an opportunity for the 7 work groups of the network to come together and discuss new opportunites for collaboration and funding applications.
